What’s In My February 2015 Fab Bag?

By Aishwarya Kaushal, Sunday, 8th March 2015

Hello everyone,

I know, I know I’m late with this post! My February Fab Bag came well after Valentine’s Day because I had renewed my subscription mid February. And now, the March one is about to come and I hope I receive that in time to do my next post.

Anyway, the bag was a little black heart this time :

F1

Mine was a little dirty and bent out of shape and I much prefer the pouch style bags they send out normally!

The theme for this month was of course Valentine’s Day :

F2

Here are the products :

1. Sally Hansen Nail Lacquer

F4

I’m excited to wear this polish. It is a soft brown nude shade that is right up my alley as nudes are my favorite shades to wear on my nails.

2. LA Splash Lip Couture – Forbidden

F7

I was so excited about this product but it is really hard to work with! I’m glad they didn’t send me a red one though because I’ve already received three red lipsticks from Fab Bag. It dries completely matte and stays on like paint. But, if you purse your lips together when it is wet, it becomes blochy and is almost impossible to fix! Other than that, the color is to die for!

3. Kama Mridul Soap Free Cleanser & Brightening Ayurvedic Night Cream

F3

I am a little meh about this product. As always, I don’t like receiving skin care in my bag unless it’s a clay mask! But, I’ll try it and see how it fares.

4. Livon Moroccan Silk Serum

F5

I’m usually dicey about Livon serums and I use my trusty Loreal Professional ones but surprisingly, I’m very happy with this one. it detangles wet hair amazingly well and smoothens frizzy hair too. This is a good quantity for a sample size.

Here is what I received overall :

F6

This month’s Fab Bag was average. Nothing too bad, nothing too special. The Livon serum was a nice little add-on and the lipstick is absolutely budge proof. I’m also happy with the simple polish and I’ll have to try the skin care to see how it fares.

What’s In My September 2014 Fab Bag?

By Aishwarya Kaushal, Monday, 22nd September 2014

Hello everyone!

FabBag celebrated it’s second anniversary in September and my bag arrived yesterday. This was one of the best bags they’ve sent out and I’m very excited! 😀 So, lets begin.

This is what the bag looks like this month :

Fab5

I love animal print! The bag is so pretty!

Fab2

Here is what I received in my bag :

1. Bellapierre Mineral Foundation – Ivory

Fab4

I am mega glad that they sent me the right shade! I am usually the lightest shade in most Indian base products and to receive a product that is too dark is very frustrating. It is such a gamble to send someone you’ve never seen in person a base product. This is a 4 gm sample which is quite generous for a sample size and costs Rs. 2500/- The full size costs Rs. 4,900/- The product contains an SPF of 15 so it is probably not the best for flash photography. I am very excited to try it.

2. SkinYoga Green Tea Face Mask

Fab3

This is a 5.6 gm sample that will last about three uses. It is supposed to be mixed with water to form a paste and then used as a face mask. This is meant to control acne and guard skin against the Sun. Thankfully, I don’t suffer from acne but I would still like to try this product for clearer pores and smoother skin. The full size is 50 gms and retails for Rs.1,750/- Also, the bottle is very cute 😛

3. Sally Hansen Nail Growth Miracle With Gift

Fab1

I have high hopes from this product! If you don’t take your vitamins regularly, you might suffer from brittle nails and this should take care of that. The gift is a small travel sized manicure kit that is so handy to take anywhere. This is the full sized version and costs Rs. 875/-

BONUS – Trendy Printed Scarf + FAB POST Magazine

Fab6 Fab8

They sent out scarves with various prints on them. I got a Marilyn Monroe print scarf. I would’ve preferred to receive some other print but eh, I am not much of a scarf wearer anyway! The magazine contains details of each product that we received and many others.

Here is what I received overall :

Fab7

I am so happy with this month’s bag. They sent out great products that we will be excited to use. Well done to FabBag and a very happy second anniversary! 🙂

October Favorites!

By Aishwarya Kaushal, Monday, 4th November 2013

I hope you had a lovely and safe Diwali! 🙂

Where did October go? In fact where did 2013 go? Well, no point getting into that.

I know I have been MIA lately. October has a lot of birthdays and festival preparations! I have been incredibly busy and didn’t have any time to sit and type! Stay tuned for a lot of hauls because that is what I have been doing! 😛 and this is what the festival season is all about!

This is my first favorites post and I did have some items that I wanted to tell you about.

Image

1. Lakme CC Cream

I have extremely oily skin but since the weather is changing, my skin has been acting weird. It is oily on some days and dry on others. So, on those blah days, I turn to this wonderful product. It is neither too drying nor too emollient. It has a perfect natural finish and feels like nothing on the skin. Keep it mind that it doesn’t have a ton of coverage but yes, it is build able. I use my sunscreen and a primer underneath. If you’re dry skinned then you will definitely need some prepping before this. I am wishing other drugstore brands would come out with CC creams too because I haven’t had any success with BB creams!

2. Florelle Wet & Dry Blush – Marmorized

Image

I received this blush in my October Vellvette Bag

This is a beautifully pigmented blush! It is perfect for fall and will go with any dark lipstick. It gives a believable sheen to the cheeks without depositing chunky glitter!

3. Lotus UV Screen Matte Gel

This is my Holy Grail sunscreen and I never step out in the sun without wearing it. I do not use moisturizer when I use this as sunscreens are emollient enough. This product also acts like a primer. It makes the skin appear smoother and makeup adheres better when I wear this. It will not melt off of your face and it doesn’t flash back! It offers SPF 50 and PA+++ protection. What’s not to love?

4. Sleek iDivine Eye Shadow Palette – Storm

Image

I LOVE Sleek products! I really wish they’d come to India. However you can order their stuff online from their website.

This is my go to everyday palette! I take this palette with me even when I travel and I am set in the eye shadow department. The shades are gorgeous, amazingly pigmented, smooth to apply, easy to blend…. And I can go on and on.

Sleek Pout Paints in “Port”, “Lava” and “Pin Up” Review

5. Sally Hansen Lip Inflation Extreme – Sheer Cherry

Image

This is another product I received in my August Vellvette Bag

I am not much of a lip gloss person. I prefer lipsticks and lip crayon things.

But this is such a beautiful coral pink color that I want to wear it everyday! 😛 ANNDDDD it makes the lips look fuller. It is non sticky, has a brush applcator and I don’t feel like my hair will stick to my lips. So Yay! 😀

6. Faces Eye Liner in Metal Brown

This is a very creamy liner and glides on easily on the upper lash line. It doesn’t tug on the delicate eye area and stays on pretty well! You can also use it on the waterline.

7. Lakme Eyeconic Kajal

It is pigmented and stays on the waterline. It doesn’t give me raccoon eyes and doesn’t irritate them either!

Image

8. Maybelline Color Tattoo

I know this is a hyped product and rightfully so! I have to admit I was using them wrong before and didn’t quite understand the hype around them but now I absolutely love them! You only need to apply the thinnest layer. They’re pigmented and extremely long wearing + waterproof. They’re available in a multitude of colors but since I am most comfortable with neutral eyes I have been using a bronze shade and a gold one a lot during this month!

Image

9. QVS Flat Top Kabuki Brush

I use this brush for everything! Buffing foundation, applying powder, applying blush, blending bronzer! I own two as of now. Flat top brushes are very versatile and can be used for a variety of things! When I am in a hurry this is a god send because I don’t have to find a blush brush and a powder brush and a bronzer brush!

10. Inglot 17TL brush

Angled brushes are also very versatile. They can be used to apply eye liner, fill in the eyebrows, apply concealer around the lips….

I use this one for my brows and it is perfect!

So that is it for my monthly favorites!

I hope you enjoyed reading and found this helpful!
