By Aishwarya Kaushal, Thursday, 13th February 2014

Hello everyone!

Hope you’re having a wonderful time during Valentine’s week with your special someone! ❤

Those of you who are single, this is the perfect excuse to OD on chocolate! 😛

Anyway, I am here to talk about my current favorite lipsticks by Chambor! I love Chambor! Their Silver Shadow compact is my all time favorite compact and I always have a backup of it in my vanity.

I hauled these lipsticks during my haul series. Haul Series Part 4 – Sleek and Chambor Makeup!

Image

I will be reviewing 3 beautiful shades from this range today.

    • Long wearing & water resistant.
    • Has spherical powders to get the ultimate Matte Effect.
    • No Animal Ingredients.
    • Dermatological Tested.
    • Regular use of Powder Matte Lipsticks makes the Lips Soft & Healthy.

Price : Rs. 595/-

My Thoughts On The Product :

These lipsticks have been repackaged and the price has been increased. These are the “New” powder matte lipsticks in their new casing. I am not sure if the product itself has been reformulated. The internet is flooded with reviews of the old ones but I don’t know why nobody else has reviewed these yet!

The lipstick comes in a sleek black case with a silver rim where the cap shuts. I wish they showed the color of the lipstick outside on the packaging because when you have more than one of these in your collection, you have to read the name of the shade on the bottom!

Image

The pigmentation on these lipsticks is fantastic. They will cover any issues of pigmented lips and look fabulous. One swipe will give you full pigmentation but you can blot them down and wear them a little sheer if you like. I like to wear them full power because the shades are just so beautiful!

The texture, although matte, isn’t entirely drying. I won’t say its moisturizing because it isn’t but it is still very comfortable to wear. Being a matte lipstick, I don’t feel like my lips have been chapped dry when I wear these. However, before wearing these, you need to make sure your lips are exfoliated and soft as they will cling to dry patches, if any.

They apply smoothly and do not tug on the delicate skin of the lips. They will stay on for 5-6 hours with very little transfer and fade evenly leaving behind a light stain. After that the lips start to feel a little dry. But, nothing that some lip balm can’t take care of! You may need to touch up after consuming an oily meal.

They are completely waterproof and do not settle into fine lines. The smell is pleasant and not overpowering at all!

Whenever I wear bold lipstick, I prefer it to be matte. That way, the color doesn’t feather out and I don’t have to be afraid of smears!

1. 175 Sugar Pink

Image

This is a beautiful nudey shade. It is pinky, peachy and nudey at the same time. Perfect for everyday!

Here is how it looks on me :

2. 176 Pink Flamingo

Image

This is the most amazing hot pink shade. It is my current favorite hot pink. Honestly, I’d wear this everyday! 😛

Here is how it looks on me :

3. 177 Crimson Red

Image

This is a true maroon. Its the perfect shade for fall/winter as it is a very deep rich red.

Image

Here is how it looks on me :

Crimson

The GOOD :

1. Amazing Staying Power

2. Non-Transferable

3. Supreme Pigmentation

4. Easily Available

5. Non-Offensive Smell

6. Won’t Settle Into Fine Lines

7. Beautiful Silky Matte Texture

8. Travel Friendly

The Could Be Better :

1. Slightly drying

2. Price may be a con for some

3. Shade not shown on the packaging

Overall :

I am extremely content with these lipsticks and would recommend them to everyone who likes matte lips! I will definitely repurchase the shades that I have when I run out of them but I also want to try other shades from this range.

I hope you enjoyed reading!

Haul Series Part 10 – Huge Drugstore Makeup Haul!

By Aishwarya Kaushal, Wednesday, 18th December 2013

Hello everyone!

I visited NewU again! I know I just shouldn’t go there! That store is infectious. Everything is just there and I want to try so many things!

Anyway, I am a crazy shopaholic as you may be able to tell by now after a huge haul series!

This is going to be a collective NewU haul. They’re giving away gift coupons worth Rs. 250/- on a purchase of 2500/- and above till the 31st of December 2013.

I will show you what I got :

1. Revlon Colorstay Whipped Foundation – Rs. 800/-

Image

I really like the regular Colorstay and I went to restock on that. The SA at NewU said they only had the whipped one in stock so I thought I would give it a try!

Image

2. Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains in “Sweetheart”, “Berry Crush” and “Romantic” – Rs. 700/- each

Image

Image

Image

I absolutely love these! I already have “Lovesick”, “Honey” and “Rendezvous”. They stain the lips and are non drying.

3. Lakme 9 to 5 Lipstick in “Red Coat” – Rs. 400/-

Image

This is warm red. It is the only bright shade in the 9 to 5 range. It is supremely pigmented, easy to wear and lasts for hours! I feel like I have found my perfect red in this and I never want to be without it!

4. Maybelline Color Sensational Moisture Extreme Lipcolor in “118 Splendor Plum” – Rs. 285/-

Image

This was a gift with purchase. It is a plumy shade with silver glitter.

5. Maybelline Bold Matte Lipstick in “Mat 2” – Rs. 375/-

Image

This is a pinky orange in the tube but it looks pink on the lips. It is not as matte as I expected but it is very comfortable to wear.

6. Maybelline Bold Matte Lipstick in “Mat 3” – Rs. 375/-

Image

This is a straight up neon orange shade.

7. Colorbar Full Cover Concealer in “001 Soft Ivory” – Rs. 495/-

Image

This is a good concealer for covering up minor spots and dark circles.

8. Loreal Infallible Eye Shadows in “Endless Chocolate” and “Burning Black” – Rs. 475/- each

Image Image

These are my favorite eye shadows! I just wish they would make them in all colors and matte ones too! They’re creamy, easy to blend and super pigmented!

Image Image

9. Colorbar Showstopper Eyelash Curler – Rs. 350/-

Image Image

10. Colorbar Lip Contour Definer in “Mad Pink” – Rs. 550/-

Image

Image

11. Maybelline Color Show Nail Polish in “Velvet Wine” – Rs. 75/-

Image

This is a gorgeous red shade with red, pink and golden shimmer. The base is not very pigmented but it will look beautiful as a top coat on most reds, pinks and wines. This is the perfect shade for the holidays and parties!

12. Maybelline Hyper Sharp Eye Liner Pen – Rs. 375/-

Image

It is just so much easier to draw on a winged eyeliner with a pen.

13. Maybelline The Falsies Mascara – Rs. 475/-

Image

This is my absolute FAVORITE mascara! It gives unbelievable results and it seriously looks like you’re wearing falsies.

14. QVS Angled Eyeshadow Brush – Rs. 220/-

Image

I am highly impressed with the quality of QVS brushes! I absolutely love their Kabuki brush ( See October Favorites ) and eyelash comb so I though I’d try another one.

15. Nivea Fruity Shine Lip Balm in “Pomegranate” – 135/-

Image

It smells really nice and has a slight reddish tint on the lips.

16. Nivea Hydro Care Lip Balm – Rs. 145/-

Image

I got this on Lisa Eldridge’s recommendation in one of her videos on Youtube!

This is it for my haul. Well, I also bought some toiletries! 😛

Haul Series Part 4 – Sleek and Chambor Makeup!

By Aishwarya Kaushal, Monday, 18th November 2013

Hello everyone!

Today, I am going to be sharing with you a little Sleek haul and some Chambor products that I got recently.

Sleek is a wonderful makeup brand! It is based in UK but you can get it online at http://www.sleekmakeup.com. Shipping charges apply!

Here is what I got from Sleek :

Image

1. Sleek I-Divine Eye Shadow Palette in “Oh So Special”

Image

Sleek’s eye shadows are beautifully pigmented. This is a very easy and girly palette. Each shade is beautifully pigmented!

Image

2. Sleek I-Divine Eye Shadow Palette in “Ultra Mattes V2 Darks”

Image

It is so hard to find great matte eye shadows at drugstore rates. Sleek does the job, and perfectly! I love each and every shade in the palette and you just need a little tap of the brush to achieve great pigmentation!

Each palette contains a black shade which is one of the most pigmented black eye shadows ever! It can be used for creating smoky eyes or lining them.

3. Sleek Blush By 3 Palette in “Pink Sprint”

Image

This palette is a wonderful collection of pink blushes. There is a plum shade that will go well with most fall/winter lipstick shades. A hot pink that gives that Barbie cheeks look and a dusty pink that is great for everyday. I have already reviewed the Lace Palette.

You can also read my review on Sleek’s Pout Paints.

Here is what I got from Chambor :

Image

1. Chambor Silver Shadow Compact in “RR2 Rose Pale” – Rs. 895/-

Image

This is my all time favorite compact. Plus, you also get a refill along with it so yay! 😀

It keeps me matte for much longer than any other compact and also gives some amount of coverage. It can hide minor imperfections and makes the skin look flawless over foundation.

2. Chambor Powder Matte Lipstick in “175 Sugar Pink” – Rs. 595/-

Image

This is the perfect nude for me! I was ecstatic when I found this! It is a coral nude that brightens my face up and does not wash me out!

The powder matte collection is great for people who prefer matte lipsticks.

This is going to be my everyday color.

3. Chambor Powder Matte Lipstick in “176 Pink Flamingo” – Rs. 595/-

Image

This is a Hot Pink! I am thinking it would look perfect with the hot pink blush in the Sleek palette above! 😛

4. Chambor Powder Matte Lipstick in “177 Crimson Red” – Rs. 595/-

Image

This is a very deep rich oxblood. These type of reds are perfect for the winter time. I prefer bold lip colors to be matte. They’re easier to maintain.

READ MY REVIEW ON THESE LIPSTICKS HERE

4. Chambor Velvette Touch Lip Liner Pencil in “RD 21” – Rs. 395/-

Image

This is a simple red lip pencil that would go with most red lipsticks.

5. Chambor Jewels Metallic Liquid Eyeliner – Free With Purchase

Image

This is a very pigmented black waterproof eyeliner with gold glitter. It would be great for night time looks and parties!

So this is it for my haul.

Please let me know if you want to see detailed reviews on any product! :-)
