What’s In My August 2013 Vellvette Box/Bag?

By Aishwarya Kaushal, Friday, 30th August 2013

Hello everyone!

I received my Vellvette Box Bag yesterday and here is what it looks like :

I am glad they sent a pouch/bag instead of a big cardboard box. These bags are useful for storing things and come in handy for travel.

Here is a peek inside :

This month’s theme for the Vellvette Box was “Ticket To Hollywood”

I have been seeing “Bonus” products in many other blogger’s posts about this month’s Vellvette Box but I got only 3 products!

However, the good part is that there are 2 full size products.

The first product is the Sally Hansen Lip Inflation Extreme Gloss in “Sheer Cherry”. I have been meaning to try this product and I was excited about this in my bag. I am glad it is full size.

Many other bloggers got a clear version but I was glad to receive a beautiful color.

And NO, it does not plump up my lips. It doesn’t even feel tingly enough to be a lip plumper.

The Soap & Glory Sexy Mother Pucker feels a lot tinglier than this. Read full review HERE

I would just call it a regular gloss. It smells like Cinnamon which is a little off putting because I don’t like the smell of Cinnamon. I do like the brush applicator though. I prefer brush applicators over doe foot applicators.

The next product is another full size product.

Figs & Rouge 100% Organic Aloe & Mint Balm. This is a repeat product. I saw it in the February issue.

I do like appreciate a full size balm. I am a lip balm hoarder and addict!

I do not like the smell of this. I can faintly smell mint and perhaps some Aloe. But, when I put it on my lips, I did feel the cooling sensation of mint and I could sense a whiff of mintyness.

I like that it is 100% Organic.

The last product is a disappointment! 😦 H2O Sea Results Deep Sleep Recovery Cream.

I have seen some other bloggers getting a much better sample of this product range. Maybe even a deluxe sized sample would’ve been alright.

I wish Vellvette paid more attention to the customer’s needs. I do not really need anti-aging right now! Plus any skincare takes atleast 3 weeks to start showing results. So, I don’t care about itty-bitty samples of skin care.

However, this claims “Overnight Treatment” so I guess this would last 2-3 uses. I will give it to my mother to try out!

Overall, here is what I got :

I will not say I am unhappy but I am not ecstatic either. I do like the gloss and the balm but that tiny sample of night cream didn’t do anything for me!

I’m hoping Vellvette steps up its game next month!

You can subscribe to the Vellvette Box here :  http://www.vellvette.com/

Quick DIYs for Beautiful Skin!

By Aishwarya Kaushal, Saturday, 24th August 2013

1. Exfoliate!

Instead of using a Loofah Mitt everyday in the shower, use bath gloves like these :

These gloves will help to deeply exfoliate your skin and when combined with a moisturizing body wash, they will leave your skin dream soft!

Using a bath brush will also help the skin age better as it will promote blood circulation, dead skin removal and skin renewal.

2. Dry Skin?

Try this mask for instant moisture and to soften the skin :

Mix one Whole Egg, 2 tablespoons Full Fat Milk and 1 tablespoon Honey together. Apply on freshly cleansed skin and leave for 15-20 mins. Wash away with lukewarm water and the last few splashes with cold water.

The egg white helps to tighten the skin and shrink pores whereas the egg yolk is an instant shot of moisture and softens the skin. An egg is full of proteins and vitamins A,D and E.

3. Oily Skin?

Only apply egg whites without the yolk. Leave for 10-15 mins till dry and wash away with lukewarm water and then with cold water. It will tighten the skin, shrink pores and inhibit excess sebum production.

4. Lip Scrub :

Mix together Honey & Sugar to form an instant all natural Lip Scrub! Rub into your lips slowly in circular motions and wash off. Your lips will be instantly moisturized from the honey and the exfoliating action from the sugar will leave them soft and plump. Say goodbye to chapped lips!

5. Body Scrub From The Kitchen :

Its important to exfoliate the skin before any method of hair removal. Scrubbing removes dead skin and helps grip the hair better. After exfoliation, you will get better results from waxing and you will also get a much closer shave.

No need to spend on expensive scrubs! Mix together one cup of Chick Pea Flour / Gram Flour ( Besan ), 1/4 cup of Milk, 1 tablespoon Honey and a pinch of Turmeric. Scrub your whole body with this ( you can also use bath gloves for better exfoliation ) and your skin will feel so soft you will not be able to stop touching yourself! 🙂

6. Relieve Puffy Eyes :

Thinly slice cucumbers and put them on closed eyes. Lie down for 10-15 mins. Cooled white potatoes do the same trick too! You can also keep spoons in the refrigerator and put them on your eyes for an instant cooling effect to reduce puffiness.

7. Rice Flour :

This mask will benefit dry skin, dull skin, oily skin, acne prone skin, prevent wrinkles and sun damage!

Just mix 2 teaspoons of Rice Flour and 3 teaspoons of Honey. You can also add a teaspoon of Green Tea for extra anti oxidants. Apply it on cleansed skin and leave on for 20 mins. Massage for 30 seconds and rinse off! Your skin will feel better and look brighter.

You can also mix the leftover with sugar to make an instant facial scrub!

8. Fade Acne Scars :

Mix 4 teaspoons Lemon Juice, 3 teaspoons of Plain Yogurt, 4 tablespoons Honey and 1 Egg White. Apply on clean face and let it sit for 15-20 minutes. Rinse off with warm water.

Lemon, Honey and Yogurt are all natural skin lightening agents.

9. Lastly, Drink Up!

We have been told and told to drink more water and for good reason!

a) Drinking more water can help relieve dry skin, eczema, psoriasis, wrinkles and spots.

b) Water significantly increases our ability to think and makes us energetic.

c) Water removes toxins from our body. Less water makes the heart work harder to pump fresh oxygenated blood to our organs causing severe health issues.

d) Drinking a glass of water before meals helps reduce weight since you will eat less. It keeps you fresh and healthy!

e) Dehydration is one of the most common cause of headaches so be sure to keep yourself hydrated at all times!

f) Regular intake of water improves metabolism and improves the digestive system. It also helps relieve constipation.

g) The kidneys work really well in cleansing and ridding your body of toxins as long as your intake of water is adequate.

I hope you enjoyed!

What’s In My Bag? :-D

By Aishwarya Kaushal, Friday, 23rd August 2013

Hello everyone! I hope you are doing well! 🙂

This tag was always very fascinating to me, on YouTube too! A woman’s bag is a very private thing to her so its very exciting to see what other ladies like to carry!

I love seeing what other people think is important to have at hand and it also gives me ideas to be prepared in all most situations!

So here I am sharing with you all, what I carry in my bag! 🙂

I thrifted this bag from Sarojini Nagar Market, New Delhi for Rs. 800/- ($12) a year ago. I have used this bag to death and it still remains in tip top condition! 😀

I carry a lot of things around in my bag. It is very hard for me to carry a small bag because I feel like I am missing something all the time! However, I do not like a cluttered mess in my bag. I want to be able to find what I want really quick. So, I divide things and carry them in little bags.

Here are all the little bags that are inside :

Starting from the front closure :

I like to keep Tic Tacs ( breath mints ) in the very front pocket. That makes them easily accessible and I like having them handy. I alternate between a wide variety of mints but Tic Tacs are the most easily available. I am considering switching to a sugar free mint since I eat them all day!

The first thing inside my bag is my wallet. I got this wallet from Kazo for Rs. 1200/- ($18)

The next thing is a hair brush. Who doesn’t need a hairbrush? Have you ever been in a situation where you needed to tame your wild hair and you forgot your hairbrush? :-O

I have been there a lot of times! So, I keep a travel comb inside my wallet in case I forget my hairbrush! 😛

The second little bag has all my general necessities ( L-R ) :

1. A Lotion / Moisturizer / Hand Cream. Whatever I can find at that time!

2. A Hand Sanitizer.

3. The Body Shop White Musk Libertine Solid Perfume.

4. The Body Shop White Musk Libertine EDT.

5. My Hello Kitty Lens Case.

6. Travel Size Bottle Of Listerine.

Then, I have two cases that carry my spectacles and sunglasses each.

This is the makeup bag I use. I got this from a trade-fair for Rs. 300/- ($5). It is extremely soft.

It deserves a full post on what is inside so I will not be showing it here.

Apparently I need two pairs of earphones! 😛

The Pink ones are Skull Candy Stereo Earphones that I use for music and the White ones are Apple EarPods that I use for talking.

Lastly, I have my keys with a Hello Kitty key ring and a Pepper Spray!

I hope you enjoyed this post. I do not use the same handbag everyday. I like to keep changing my bags according to my outfits. This is such a neutral bag, it goes with everything and I do use it a lot. The things inside remain pretty much the same with whatever bag I choose to carry on any given day.

Outfit Of The Day! Mixing Prints!

By Aishwarya Kaushal, Thursday, 22nd August 2013

Striped Tank, Floral Skirt, Chambray Shirt, Blue Shoes, Orange Bag!

Quick Tip on mixing prints :

Remain in the same color palette. Pairing prints of clashing colors together can be a bit of a challenge. Choose prints that are complementary and not overpowering. I have used thin strips with light florals.

Thick strips with light florals would look imbalanced and so would thin stripes with huge flowers.

The key is to create balance between your upper and lower body!

The Body Shop Strawberry Range : Shower Gel, Body Polish, Body Lotion and Body Mist Review!

By Aishwarya Kaushal, Thursday, 22nd August 2013

The Body Shop Strawberry Range

I LOVE STRAWBERRIES! They are my favorite fruit and also one of my favorite scents of all time! So it must come as no surprise that I own the entire range! 😛

I also own The Body Butter and The Born Lippy Lip Balm in both Pot and Stick forms! But those are not reviewed here as I wanted to keep this post summer friendly! 🙂

I absolutely love The Body Shop. I own a lot of things from there and it is my favorite bath and body brand.

The Body Shop Strawberry Shower Gel

The Body Shop Strawberry Shower Gel

What The Body Shop Claims :

This soap-free shower gel contains real strawberry seed oil. It has a deliciously sweet scent.

  • Lather-rich
  • Sweet strawberry scent

Lather up in the bath or shower using hands or a bath lily. Rinse thoroughly.

The Body Shop Strawberry Shower Gel

Ingredients :

Aqua (Water) (Solvent/Diluent), Sodium Laureth Sulfate (Surfactant), Glycerin (Humectant), Cocamidopropyl Betaine (Surfactant), Cocamide DEA (Surfactant), Coco-Glucoside (Surfactant), PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil (Emulsifier), Parfum (Fragrance), Phenoxyethanol (Preservative), Glycine soja (Soybean Oil) (Emollient/Skin Conditioner), Sodium Benzoate (Preservative), Citric Acid (pH Adjuster), Fragaria vesca (Strawberry Juice) (Natural Additive), PEG-55 Propylene Glycol Oleate (Surfactant), Propylene Glycol (Humectant), Benzophenone-4 (Sunscreen), Disodium EDTA (Chelating Agent), Limonene (Fragrance Ingredient), Cinnamal (Fragrance Ingredient), Linalool (Fragrance Ingredient), Citral (Fragrance Ingredient), CI 17200 (Colour), CI 14700 (Colour).

My Thoughts :

If you like strawberries, you will love this entire range. Everything smells delicious enough to eat!

I love this shower gel. It is mild and smells like freshly cut sweet strawberries.

It looks reddish and lathers up really well. You only need a tiny amount to lather up your whole body so it will last a long time.

Your body will not feel squeaky clean after using this as it not drying at all. If you use your hands to wash yourself, you may end up using more product than required. A loofah mitt will help in better cleansing.

It is like a spa in your washroom. It feels luxurious and scents up the entire bathroom. In summers, I do not need to moisturize after using this.

The Body Shop Strawberry Shower Gel

The texture is runny and spreads well. The packaging is made of plastic and is sturdy and travel friendly. It has a cap that screws shut with a lid that pops open.

However, when I am not travelling, I prefer pump dispensers.

The GOOD :

1. Non-Drying.

2. Lathers up really well so it will last long.

3. Skin feels soft and refreshed.

4. Heavenly smell.

5. Travel friendly packaging.

6. Small bottles also available.

1. Once you step out of the shower, the scent will not last long.

2. A tad expensive.

3. This is a travel friendly bottle but I personally prefer pump packaging.

Price – Rs. 395/- for 250 ml. ($6)

The Body Shop Strawberry Body Polish

The Body Shop Strawberry Body Polish

What The Body Shop Claims :

This exfoliating, foaming gel gently buffs away dead skin cells to leave skin soft and smooth. It has a sweet strawberry scent.

  • Leaves skin feeling soft and smooth
  • Sweet strawberry scent

Use in the bath or shower. Apply to damp skin in a circular motion, then rinse thoroughly.

The Body Shop Strawberry Body Polish

Ingredients :

Aqua (Water) (Solvent/Diluent), Sodium Laureth Sulfate (Surfactant), Glycerin (Humectant), Cocamide DEA (Surfactant), Cocamidopropyl Betaine (Surfactant), Acrylates Copolymer (Stabiliser), Juglans regia (Walnut Shell Powder) (Exfoliant), Parfum (Fragrance), Benzyl Alcohol (Preservative), Phenoxyethanol (Preservative), Actinidia chinensis (Natural additive), Mel (Honey (Mel)) (Natural Additive), Fragaria vesca (Strawberry Juice) (Natural Additive), Sodium Hydroxide (pH Adjuster), Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane (Avobenzone) (Sunscreen), Disodium EDTA (Chelating Agent), Limonene (Fragrance Ingredient), Cinnamal (Fragrance Ingredient), Denatonium Benzoate (Denaturant), Salicylic Acid (Preservative/Hair Conditioner), Linalool (Fragrance Ingredient), Citral (Fragrance Ingredient), CI 14700 (Colour), CI 17200 (Colour).

My Thoughts :

This is gentle exfoliator. It is a red gel that contains Kiwi seeds and Strawberry seeds that form the abrasive part of this polish.

This is a lovely product for those who do not like very abrasive exfoliants like the Himalaya Apricot/Walnut Scrub. It is non-drying and will make the skin feel extremely smooth, soft and moisturized. You can use this before your shower and wash it off with your shower gel or use it in the end and you will not need any moisturizer after your shower.

It smells like sumptuous juicy strawberries and actually feels like you are rubbing freshly crushed strawberries on yourself. It is mild enough to use everyday and will not cause any redness. However, I would advice you to use it not more than thrice a week because your skin needs time for renewal.

The Body Shop Strawberry Body Polish

It comes with a lid that pops open. The texture is runny and lathers up well. The quantity is good and it will last a while.

The GOOD :

1. Feels like freshly cut strawberries.

2. Gentle exfoliating and will not cause redness.

3. Decent quantity.

4. Smells amazing.

5. Moisturizing

6. Lathers well with water.

7. The smell stays on for about an hour after shower.

1. The product gathers at the mouth of the tube.

2. If you do not like the smell of strawberries then this is not for you!

Price – Rs. 525/- for 200 ml. ($8)

The Body Shop Strawberry Puree Body Lotion

The Body Shop Strawberry Puree Body Lotion

What The Body Shop Claims :

This lightweight body lotion contains real strawberry seed oil. It hydrates dry skin and leaves it feeling soft and smooth

  • Leaves skin feeling soft and smooth
  • Sweet strawberry scent

Massage into skin and allow to sink in before dressing.

The Body Shop Strawberry Puree Body Lotion

Ingredients :

Aqua (Water) (Solvent/Diluent), Butyrospermum parkii (Shea Butter) (Emollient), Glycerin (Humectant), Cyclomethicone (Emollient), Benzyl Alcohol (Preservative), Parfum (Fragrance), Phenoxyethanol (Preservative), Sodium Carbomer (Emulsion Stabiliser), Helianthus annuus (Sunflower Seed Oil) (Emollient), Carbomer (Stabiliser/Viscosity Modifier), Fragaria ananassa (Natural Additive), Fragaria vesca (Strawberry Extract) (Natural Additive), Glyceryl Acrylate/Acrylic Acid Copolymer (Skin Conditioning Agent), Methylparaben (Preservative), Magnesium Aluminum Silicate (Viscosity Modifier), Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane (Avobenzone) (Sunscreen), Propylene Glycol (Humectant), Butylparaben (Preservative), Ethylparaben (Preservative), Limonene (Fragrance Ingredient), Propylparaben (Preservative), Isobutylparaben (Preservative), Cinnamal (Fragrance Ingredient), Linalool (Fragrance Ingredient), Citral (Fragrance Ingredient), CI 14700 (Colour), CI 15985 (Colour).

My Thoughts :

This lotion is a mild moisturizer that is great for summers.

It is water based and spreads easily onto the skin. However, it feels sticky for the five minutes or so after application then the stickiness goes away once it sinks into the skin.

It is a very lightweight moisturizer and might not be enough for winters. But, if you require intensive hydration then The Body Shop’s Strawberry Body Butter is a great alternative. I prefer this for summers and the body butter for winters.

It is a thick pink lotion and smells of delicious amazing strawberries. ( No points for guessing! 😛 )

The Body Shop Strawberry Puree Body Lotion

I prefer pump dispensers for regular use so I love the packaging.

The GOOD :

1. Lightweight moisturization that is great for summers.

2. You don’t need too much to moisturize your whole body.

3. Non greasy.

4. The smell lingers on for 2-3 hours.

1. Feels sticky at first but the stickiness goes away in a few minutes.

2. No SPF.

3. Contains Parabens! 😦

4. Not suitable for winters.

Price– Rs. 525/- for 250 ml ($8)

The Body Shop Strawberry Body Mist

The Body Shop Strawberry Body Mist

What The Body Shop Claims :

Our Strawberry takes on a fresh new form. Spray this light scented body mist all over your body for a gentle burst of sweet fruitiness. It’s irresistible.

  • Sweet strawberry fragrance
  • Light and fresh
  • Use all over body
  • Contains strawberry extract

Spritz it on after bathing or showering. Top up throughout the day.

The Body Shop Strawberry Body Mist

Ingredients :

Alcohol Denat. (Solvent/Diluent), Water (Solvent/Diluent), Fragrance (Fragrance), Limonene (Fragrance Ingredient), Fragaria Vesca (Strawberry) Fruit Extract (Natural Additive), Citronellol (Fragrance Ingredient), Citral (Fragrance Ingredient), Linalool (Fragrance Ingredient), Denatonium Benzoate (Denaturant).

My Thoughts :

This is my signature scent. I will never be without a bottle of this in my life! And that is saying a lot. I say that because I love strawberries and I know I always will.

I love the entire range of strawberry from The Body Shop. However, this one is the strongest one. This smells like straight up strawberries like everything else in the range but this is the most potent version of strawberries. But, it doesn’t smell as rich and sumptuous as the body polish due to the presence of alcohol.

It lasts well on me for about 5-6 hours. If I spray this in my hair I can still smell it on me the next day too!

I always receive compliments on smelling nice when I use this.

The Body Shop Strawberry Body Mist

The packaging is made of sturdy glass which is a bit heavy but travel friendly. I have dropped it and it did not break! The lid is loose and comes off easily though.

The GOOD :

1. Lasts for 5-6 hours.

2. Not too expensive for what it is.

3. Beautiful straight up  true strawberry scent.

4. I love how everything is in see through packaging so we can tell how much product is left.

1. It does smell sumptuous like the body polish.

2. It is a very strong strawberry scent that is not everyone.

3. Glass bottle makes it heavy.

Price – Rs. 745/- for 100 ml ($12)

PS. I also own the Vanilla, Satsuma, Madagascan Vanilla Flower, Pink Grapefruit, White Musk and White Musk Libertine scents from The Body Shop, reviews of which will be coming soon!

Will I Recommend and Repurchase?

I do recommend the entire range to anyone who is a fan of strawberries and likes fruity scents.

I may not need to repurchase these anytime soon as I already have back ups of everything! 😛 But when I run out, I will repurchase them.

During summers, I love smelling like a giant fruit basket at all times! 😛

The best way to making sure your scent lasts is to layer your products. When I use the Body Polish, Shower Gel, Body Lotion and The Body Mist I usually smell like fresh strawberries throughout the day. Your scent will last much longer on moisturized skin than dry skin! So, the lotion acts a good base for the body mist.

Oily Skin?

By Aishwarya Kaushal, Monday, 19th August 2013

Hello everyone!

So today I am going to write about one of the most common skin issues – Oiliness! I will share with you some of my tips on how to help deal with an oily face and how to make the best out of it.

Oily skin is the result of overactive sebaceous glands that secrete excess oil onto the surface of our skin. It might be due to hormones, teen age, heat, humidity, excess scrubbing, pregnancy, menopause, birth control pills or it may be hereditary.

Oily skin is usually accompanied with large pores and acne. Your pore size will majorly depend on your parent’s pore size. However, there are some remedies to shrink your pores and reduce acne which we will discuss further.

First of all, Oily Skin is B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L 🙂

Each one of us that has it and hates it should remember the multiple benefits of oily skin

– We will show signs of aging like wrinkles, age spots, fine lines, dull skin, dry skin much later that the normal/dry skinned.

– We always have an undeniable glow to our faces! 🙂

– Oily skin looks supple, well moisturized and soft all the time.

– Oily skin tans evenly.

Having said all that, I know it can be troublesome. So now we shall talk about some of my tips and ideas on keeping us fresh and matte for longer.

1. Eat right :

A) Start with what you put inside. An oily plate will result in an oily face. In order to avoid an oil explosion on your face, it is advised to eat fresh fruits everyday. Having a colorful plate of food ensures that you eat all the nutrients you need.

B) Consume food that is rich in Antioxidants like berries, spinach, carrots and other vibrantly colored fruits and vegetables. Also, include Omega-3 Fatty Acids your diet by consuming tuna, salmon, mackerel, walnuts, hazelnuts and almonds. It helps improve the texture of your skin.

C) Avoid too much sugar and concentrate on more protein and complex carbohydrates.

D) Minimize your intake of animal fats and dairy products.

2. Drink right :

A) Always have a bottle of water handy. Water helps blood circulation and keeps the brain active too. Dehydration may result in excess oiliness as the sebaceous glands may go into overdrive and compensate for the lost oil. Drinking water will also keep you fresh throughout the day.

B) Avoid soda ( carbonated drinks ). Our skin needs Oxygen to look beautiful and not Carbon Dioxide. Sodas have absolutely no nutritional value. The Phosphoric Acid in them may decrease the body’s ability to use calcium hence weakening bones. Caffeine may cause jitters, insomnia, high blood pressure, irregular heartbeat, elevated blood cholesterol levels, vitamin and mineral depletion, breast lumps, birth defects, and perhaps some forms of cancer. Plus excessive sugar. Need I say more?

C) Avoid sugary drinks too. It is a proven fact that sugar increases insulin levels, which can lead to high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease, diabetes, weight gain, premature aging and many more negative side effects.

D) Avoid alcohol.

3. Cleansing :

A) Always wash your hands before washing your face. Wash your face no more than twice a day.

B) When looking for a face wash, look for words that say “Oil Control”, “Deep Cleaning”, “Mattifying”, “Foaming”, “Oil Free” etc. Avoid the ones that say “Hydrating”, “Moisturizing”, “Creamy” etc. Look for face washes with Salicylic Acid as it helps in controlling oil. If you also suffer from acne then look for ones containing a very small percentage of Benzoyl Peroxide.

C) Some recommendations :

– Pond’s Skin Mattifying Oil Control Face Wash. Detailed review HERE : Rs 119/- ($1.93)

– The Body Shop Seaweed Deep Cleansing Facial Wash – Rs. 595/- ($9.65)

– Pond’s Smooth Pores Pore Tightening Face Wash – Rs. 75/- ($1.22)

– The Body Shop Tea Tree Facial Wash – Rs. 595/- ($9.65)

– Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash – Rs. 425/- ($6.89)

– Cetaphil Daily Facial Cleanser ( Normal to Oily skin ) – Rs. 495/- ($8)

D) Remember to rub the face wash into your skin for at least 20 seconds in the most oily places in light circular motions. Then wash off with lukewarm water. Make the last few splashes with cold water as it helps close the pores.

E) Do not expect miracles from your face wash. No face wash can keep you matte forever. It will just help regulate surface oil secretion and provide a smooth base for further skincare.

4. Toning :

A) Oily skin benefits from astringents and toners. They tighten the skin and help shrink pores. However make sure they do not contain Alcohol or Acetone as they may cause skin darkening and are very drying for the skin which may result in excess production of Sebum (oil).

B) Rose water and cucumber water are both good for toning the skin. They are not extremely drying and leave the skin feeling fresh. You can make cucumber water at home by grating cucumber and squeezing the water out from it through a muslin cloth. Keep it in a spray bottle in the refrigerator. Refresh your stock every few days.

You can also make an acne fighting and oil regulating spray with Tea Tree Oil. Tea Tree Oil is readily available in the market. Mix about 4-6 drops of Tea Tree Oil into about 50 ml of water. Shake well and spray it onto your face after washing or whenever you need to freshen up during the day.

C) Other options available in the market :

– FabIndia Tea Tree Toner – Rs.135/- ($2.19)

– The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Toner – Rs. 795/- ($12.90)

– Kiehl’s Cucumber Herbal Alcohol-Free Toner – Rs. 700/- ($11)

– Nivea Visage Oil Regulating Toner – Rs. 149/- ($2.42)

– VLCC Skin Defence Punarnava Astringent – Rs. 110/- ($1.78)

D) Always remember to do a patch test. Some of these toners and astringents may sting and cause redness. It takes trial and error to decide what works for YOU. Each one of us is different and has different skin types and hence different needs.

5. Moisturizing :

A) Oily skin also needs moisture, just in moderation. If we do not moisturize our sebaceous glands will over compensate for the lost moisture and we will end up looking like an oily mess!

B) Look for moisturizers that say “Oil Free”, “Light”, “Gel” etc. Use a pea sized amount to moisturize your whole face. Remember, the less layers of product you have on your face, the better.

C) Again, what may work for someone, may not work for you and vice-versa. It takes trial and error to find one that works specifically for you. Some of the moisturizers are :

– L’Oreal Anti Shine Icy Gel – Rs. 499/- ($8.09)

– Vicky Normaderm Total Mat Anti-Shine Mattifier – Rs. 790/- ($12.81)

– The Body Shop Sea Weed Mattifying Day Cream – Approximately Rs. 1000/- ($16.90)

– Lotus Herbals Alphamoist – Rs. 175/- ($2.84)

– Lotus Herbals Acne Gel – Rs. 233/- ($3.78)

– Neutrogena Oil Free Moisture – Rs. 299/- ($4.85)

– Fab India Vitamin E Skin Hydrating Cream For Oily Skin – Rs. 165/- ($2.68)

– Lacto Calamine For Oily to Normal Skin – Rs. 125/- ($2.03)

– Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel – Rs.1534/- ($24.88)

6. Scrubs and Masks :

A) It helps to steam your face before doing an at home facial because the heat helps open up your pores driving out impurities.

B) Scrubbing will help get rid of blackheads and whiteheads. Oily skin benefits from scrubbing because it gets more dead skin build up trapping impurities and dirt. But, over exfoliating will result in angry sebaceous glands. Scrub no more than twice a week.

C) Always remember, the purpose of scrubbing your face is NOT to scratch your skin but to remove surface impurities and reveal new ‘un-dead’ skin. Scrub your face with light circular motions and always extend it to the neck and decolletage area.

D) Face masks will also help draw out impurities. They will scrub chemically as opposed to physical exfoliation that we perform ourselves when we use a scrub. They will also help revitalize dull skin. Clay masks do wonders for oily skin. They should be done once a week or once in two weeks.

E) Here are some of the options to choose from :

– Nivea Pure Effect Total Face Cleanup – Rs. 199/- ($3.23)

– The Body Shop Vitamin C Microdermabrasion – Rs. 1395/- ($22.63)

– Clinique 7 day scrub cream – Rs 1700/- ($27.58)

– Kama Ayurveda Kumkumadi Brightening Face Scrub – Rs. 795/- ($12.90)

– Garnier Pure Active Blackhead Uprooting Scrub – Rs 150/- ($2.43)

– Kiehl’s Pineapple Papaya Facial Scrub – Rs. 1700/- ($27.58)

– Lancome Pure Empreinte Masque – Rs. 2200/- ($35.69)

– Himalaya Gentle Exfoliating Walnut/Apricot Scrub – Rs. 115/- ($1.87)

– Clarins Extra Firming Face Mask – Rs. 2900/- ($47.04)

– The Body Shop Sea Weed Ionic Clay Mask – Rs. 1195/- ($19.38)

– The Body Shop Tea Tree Face Mask – Rs. 895/- ($14.52)

– Himalaya Neem Face Pack – Rs. 65/- ($1.05)

– Forest Essentials Facial Ubtan Multani Mitti – Rs. 595/- ($9.65)

– Vichy Normaderm 3 in 1 – Rs. 390/- ($6.33)

7. Sunscreen :

A) Never Skip Sunscreen! Even on a cloudy day.

Finding the perfect sunscreen is extremely tricky for oily skin. During the day you can skip your moisturizer and just use sunscreen as sunscreen in itself is emollient enough.

B) Sunscreens that are oily can play havoc on your already oily skin. So, it is essential to find a water / gel based one.

C) Here are a few to try :

– Lotus Herbals Safe Sun UV Screen Matte Gel PA+++ SPF 50 – Rs. 285/- ($4.62)

– Proactive Daily Protection Plus Sunscreen SPF 30 – Rs. 799/- ($12.96)

– Vichy SPF 50 Capital Soleil Mattifying Face Fluid Dry Touch – Rs. 890/- ($14.44)

– Vichy Capital Soleil Micro-Fluid Mat For Face SPF 50+ – Rs. 1250/- ($20.28)

8. Other things you can do to help decrease Shine and Acne :

A) Tea Tree Oil can be used as a spot treatment. It is drying and anti bacterial so it can help clear up acne.

B) DO NOT TOUCH YOUR FACE. I know it sounds weird but it makes all the sense. Only touch your face while performing your skin care routine with clean hands. Your hands have been everywhere and carry dirt and bacteria from whatever you touch. Whenever you touch your face, you are transferring bacteria from your hands to your face. Avoid playing with your face, resting it in your hands, popping pimples and blackheads etc.

C) Clean Your Phone. If you tend to develop more acne on one side of your face than the other, it could be due to your phone. Remember the last time you cleaned your phone? No? Well, do it now! Your phone goes everywhere with you. You touch it while doing anything and everything and it directly touches your face. Clean it with rubbing alcohol once everyday and use earphones instead.

D) Many of us develop hormonal acne around our mouth and chin area during PMS and that time of the month. To avoid a pimple from occurring or to make it go away quicker, use an acne wash or a face wash with Salicylic Acid a week before your periods.

E) Clean your makeup brushes. They gather dirt and bacteria from the surroundings and then directly touch your face. Deep clean your brushes with a brush cleanser or baby shampoo minimum once a week and spot clean then by spraying that Tea Tree Spray we made earlier onto them. A few spritzes is all it takes.

F) Sleep on a silk pillowcase. It makes the skin softer, hair shinier and less coarse. Also spray your pillowcase with the Tea Tree Spray to disinfect it.

G) Wear a scarf / hat when outdoors. Oily skin attracts dirt and tans quicker. So cover your face with something until you reach indoors. Also, wearing a wide-brimmed hat will prevent tanning.

H) Carry tissue papers. Have you seen those tissue boxes that most people keep in their cars? Those cheap tissues? They come in extremely handy for blotting your face. Just split the tissue from any corner into 2 full tissues of only one layer each and blot your face with the one thin layer. Touch up with your regular powder / compact.

I) Milk Of Magnesia is also a great mattifier that works like a dream on oily skin. Get it at any local chemist ( non flavored ). Shake extremely well and apply a very thin layer on oily areas. Let it dry and continue with your life! 🙂 It also helps your makeup stay on all day!

J) ALWAYS extend your skincare regime to your neck and decolletage area because the skin on your neck and decolletage is as sensitive as your face and shows the first signs of aging. The skin below the face is not too oily so use the appropriate products. Moisturize, scrub and apply masks as you would on your face.

K) Don’t sweat it! Oily skin is a boon! Learn to love yourself. Self love is the first love and you are PERFECT the way you are!

If you live in New Delhi and you haven’t heard about “The” Sarojini Nagar Market, you are living under a rock!

For those of you lesser known, it is a place of joy! ( For Shopaholics ) A place that sells export surplus at throwaway prices.

These are items that may have been left behind during shipping or may have been rejected by brands due to little to very minor imperfections that you probably will not even be able to detect.

Nude Flats ( Fresh Stock ) – Rs. 700 ( $11.40* )

Red and Animal Print Flats ( On Sale ) – Rs. 400 ( $6.51* )

Red Satin Studded Pumps ( On Sale ) – Rs. 250 ( $4.07* )

So this is it for my haul. I love whatever I found to bits!

Now I will share with you some of my tips and tricks to shop wisely at markets like these :

1.  ALWAYS carry cash! Flea market sellers do not accept credit cards. There are some showrooms as well that may accept credit cards but it is always safer to carry cash. And, carry notes in small denominations of Rs. 10, 20, 50, 100.

2. Put your bargaining skills to test. The seller will usually start with a price of his choice. Quote half of that and then you can fix the deal somewhere in the middle,

3. Be a good negotiator.

4. Have patience. There will be many duds but to find the gems you will have to keep digging.

5. Keep an open mind. You will usually end up buying things that you did not even think about getting.

6. Be reasonable with yourself. It is easy to lose your mind and be overwhelmed with the sheer volume of choice. Examine each item and ask yourself if you really see yourself wearing it. Don’t just buy everything!

7. Check! Check! Check! Check each item you are willing to purchase for holes, cuts, stains etc. Sometimes they also stock used items for sale. Make sure you check whatever you purchase inside out. If there is a small stain that you are willing to compromise with, you can usually ask for a better deal.

8. DO NOT go on the weekends. It is so crowded that you probably will not be able to see things you like anyway!

9. Go during the morning hours as the sellers are usually very superstitious about their first income of the day. They believe the whole day’s business depends upon how good/bad their first income of the day is. So, they are willing to let go of items at a cheaper rate.

10. Carry a big cloth bag and stuff your things in it. The sellers will give you tiny plastic bags and if you don’t have your own big bag you will find yourself trying hard to manage several little bags.

11. Take care of your belongings. In places like these, there are many instances of pick-pocketing, stealing etc. So, make sure all your cash / phone etc are stored in a zip lock bag chained to your body.

12. Look for trendy items. Sarojini Nagar Market is famous for selling on-trend pieces for unbeatable prices.

13. Take a person you trust along with yourself to help you make better decisions. But, remember to take someone whose choice matches yours or you may end up regretting bringing that person.

14. Have an idea of your shape and body. There are no trying rooms so try on what you can over your clothes and ask your friend to take your picture so you can see how it looks on you.

15. Do not even think of wearing heels. Wear something very comfortable. There will be a lot of walking and rummaging through stuff so make sure you are wearing something you feel free in.

16. The market usually opens at around 10:30 a.m -11:00 a.m and closes at 8:30 p.m – 9:00 p.m. It is closed on Mondays.

I hope you enjoyed this post.

Chambor Sheer Delight Ultra Matte Foundation Review!

By Aishwarya Kaushal, Tuesday, 13th August 2013

What Chambor claims :

Discover the sheer delight of perfection.

With Chambor’s Sheer Delight Ultra Matt Foundation, it is time to bid oily and uneven skin goodbye. Here is a foundation that gives you the ‘no-makeup’ feeling. It comes with a matt finish that helps you stay shine free all day.

Chambor Sheer Delight Ultra Matte Foundation

  • It is Oil Free
  • Long-wearing formula will keep you looking beautiful for 10 hours without clogging your skin pores
  • Gives a ‘no makeup applied’ feeling
  • It minimizes skin imperfections
  • Finish is Velvety, Natural, & gives an Even toned result
  • Its break-through technology helps to prevent the visibility of creases and lines into the skin
  • An aerated Lightweight jelly formula as smooth as Velvet blends easily into the natural skin colour.
  • Flexible silicone polymers that prevent the setting of creases and lines into the skin and leaves you with a velvety soft complexion.
  • Matte finish – No Shine

Chambor Sheer Delight Ultra Matte Foundation

My Thoughts :

I bought this foundation because of its very enticing name. Anything that says “Matte” instantly catches my attention.

I am in the shade 01 Natural which is the lightest shade in the range and it is yellow based. This is the EXACT shade of my skin tone. There are only 3 shades to choose from.

I like the packaging. It is a navy blue squeeze tube that helps control the amount of product to be dispensed.

Chambor Sheer Delight Ultra Matte Foundation

But, the problem is that the product gathers at the mouth of the tube which I hate so I have to clean it every time I use it. And, there is no way to put any excess product back that you may have squeezed out.

Chambor Sheer Delight Ultra Matte Foundation

The consistency is thick like a cream but not like a heavy moisturizing cream. It feels whipped. This is extremely easy to blend due to the consistency. The best application will be achieved through fingers as the warmth of the fingers will ensure better blending into the skin.

It does not move around on the face during the day and stays put for a good 6-8 hours on me ( with powder and blotting and touch ups throughout the day ). Since I have extremely oily skin, I always set my foundation with a powder.

This provides a soft natural matte finish to the skin. It will cling to dry patches and not blend as beautifully if you haven’t moisturized prior to application . If you have combination skin, you would want to moisturize beforehand. Even oily skin should used a light moisturizer before applying this as it glides better on moisturized skin.

Chambor Sheer Delight Ultra Matte Foundation

This keeps me matte for a good 2 hours which is impressive for how oily my skin is. It provides sheer coverage which is great for everyday as it doesn’t look heavy at all. Bear in my mind that this is good if you want to even out your skin tone but it will not hide under eye darkness, blemishes, dark spots and other imperfections. You will need a concealer to help with all those issues. I like to use a concealer under my eyes when I am using this.

Chambor Sheer Delight Ultra Matte Foundation

Here is how it looks WITH FLASH :

Chambor Sheer Delight Ultra Matte Foundation

The GOOD :

1. Travel friendly packaging with a screw lid.

2. Keeps me matte for about 2 hours. ( I am extremely oily )

3. Provides natural looking matte sheer coverage.

4. Lasts well in the heat and humidity. ( with blotting and touch ups )

5. Doesn’t break me out.

6. Blends really well.

1. Only 3 shades to choose from.

2. Cannot be layered to achieve more coverage as it will look cakey then.

3. Opaque packaging so you cannot tell how much product is left.

4. Slightly oxidizes on me due to my natural oils.

Price Rs. 745.

The “Would You Rather?” Tag – Beauty Edition!

By Aishwarya Kaushal, Monday, 12th August 2013

Hello everyone, this tag has been going around in the blogosphere for quite some time now and also on YouTube. I just saw it on http://skinndbeauty.wordpress.com/“” and thought it was so fun to read. So, I thought I should do it too! 😀

So here goes :

1. Would you rather lose all your mascaras, eyeliners, lipsticks and lip glosses, or lose all of your palettes and eye shadows?

I would much rather lose all of my palettes and eye shadows. I can always create shadow-y looks with eyeliner and there is no way in hell that I am getting out of the house without my mascara and a lip-something ( could be a lip stain, lip tint, lipstick, lip gloss, lip balm ) 😛

2. Would you rather chop off all your hair or never be able to cut it again?

I would let it grow. I have always wondered if I never cut my hair, how long will they grow until they stop growing anymore and just fizzle out at the ends! This will be a good way to try! 😉

I don’t think I will ever be able to carry the “bald chick” look!

3. Would you rather have a coral cheek or a pink cheek?

I prefer coral blushes over pink. I have always felt they look more natural on my skin tone and more believable. I generally prefer coral over pink in lip products as well!

4. If you had Rs. 100000 to spend, would you rather buy clothes or makeup?

I would rather buy clothes. Since makeup lasts a long time, I don’t mind investing in it. But if I were to shop at the high street with that money, I would be able to buy a lot of trendy pieces and a few classic pieces.

Or maybe I would just buy a fabulous Louis Vuitton Bag! ❤

5. Would you rather apply lipstick as eyeliner or eyeliner as lipstick?

What? Who could even think of such a question?! :-O

Lipstick on your eyes will make you look ill or dead. Imagine pink / coral / red eyes!

But then eyeliner as lipstick? Maybe I could use a pink eyeliner as lipstick! I will find a way around that one! 😉

6. Would you rather only shop at MAC or Sephora?

Sephora all the way! I would have so much more choice! Mac is all about makeup and skincare. With Sephora I will have other options like fragrance, bath, makeup, skincare etc! Also with Sephora I will have a lot of choice between various brands.

7. Would you rather only use one eye shadow color or one lip color for the rest of your life?

Eyes shadow! I generally only wear neutral eye shadows. So, I would find a slightly shimmery beige eye shadow that can be used all over the lid and for highlighting and stick to it! 😀 It would make life easier!

8. Would you rather wear winter clothes in the summer or summer clothes in winter?

This is such a dreadful question. Nobody would want to be too hot or too cold!

I prefer winters over summers! Summer in India feels like our body parts are going to melt off! But maybe in the summers I can wear winter clothes and the air conditioning would make it easier! 😦

9. Would you rather have dark nails or bright nails all year round?

Dark nails! I know most people say bright nails but there is just something about deep burgundy / black nails that I find extremely sexy!

10. Would you rather give up your favorite lip product or your favorite eye product?

There is a dupe for everything in the market. I will be upset giving up my favorite product but I am sure I will find something similar one day. I cannot live without my mascara and lip balm. I think I will find another amazing lip balm but I just cannot give up on my favorite mascara!

11. Would you rather only be able to wear your hair in a ponytail or a messy bun?

Ponytail. There is so much you can do with a ponytail. Low ponytail, high ponytail, side ponytail, braided etc!

12. Would you rather never be able to paint your nails again or never use lip gloss?

I am not a lip gloss person. I prefer lip balms over glosses as I have extremely dry lips.

I LOVE painting my nails and I don’t really care for lip gloss that much.

13. Would you rather shave your eyebrows and have none at all or Sharpie them in everyday?

I will do anything I can to keep my eyebrows! They are such an important feature of your face. They frame your eyes and you can change your whole look by changing the shape of your eyebrows! I will find a dark brown sharpie and then we will be best friends forever! ❤ ❤

14. Would you rather live without makeup or nail polish?

Oooh! As much as I love painting my nails, I would give up nail polish because makeup is a beautiful gift to women! There is so much you can do with makeup and it makes everything look better!

Whereas, you can find multiple ways to make your fingers look pretty like rings, knuckle rings, tattoos etc!

So this is the end of the tag!

I am so glad that we do not actually have to make these choices and can continue doing whatever we love! 😛

Hope you enjoyed! xo!

Maybelline Diamond Glow Eye Shadow Quad in “Copper Brown” Review!

By Aishwarya Kaushal, Sunday, 11th August 2013

What Maybelline claims :

The most glowing diamond effect in 4 simple steps

  • Glow your eyes with diamonds

Maybelline Diamond Glow Eye Shadow “Copper Brown”

Why You’ll Love It

•Glow you eyes with diamonds with the creamiest powder shadow ever launched by Maybelline NY!
•The most glowing diamond effect in 4 simple steps
•Exclusive technology with gem-like sparkles that do not crush

Expert Tip

Apply A on your entire eye lid and inner corner with the bigger sponge.
Blend B on your medium lid with the opposite side of the bigger sponge.
Blend C on lower medium lid with the smaller sponge.
Use D with the opposite side of the smaller sponge to line the lash line.

Maybelline Diamond Glow Eye Shadow “Copper Brown”

My Thoughts :

If you are looking for an easy neutral palette, then this could be your pick. It consists of 4 shades ranging from a creamy shimmery beige to a dark brown.

All the shadows have a pearl/metallic finish. None of them are matte.

This could be a go to eye shadow quad for college girls and for working women as it has shades that complement each other well and hence this helps to get ready quicker.

It has 4 shades of copper/brown.

The packaging is sturdy and shuts with a click.

Maybelline Diamond Glow Eye shadow “Copper Brown”

The first shade ( A ) is very shimmery. I like to use it for highlighting the inner corner and under the brow bone. Sometimes I will just wear mascara and highlight using this shade and manage to look fully awake and beautified.

The second shade ( B ) has a pearl finish. Slightly darker skin tones can also use this as a highlight color. It has very fine golden shimmer and looks beautiful under the brow bone and all over the lid.

The third shade ( C ) is my favorite shade in the palette. It is a beautifully pigmented shade of rose gold. I use this all over the lid.

The fourth shade ( D ) is a dark brown with fine golden shimmer. It is not as pigmented but I like that because it gives a very soft look. I like to use in the outer ‘V’ of my eyes and under the lower lash line to create some depth.

Maybelline Diamond Glow Eye Shadow “Copper Brown”

Since they are so soft and easy to blend, there is no fallout. However, if you want them to last long, I’d advise using an eye shadow primer underneath.

I like that there is not too much shadow in this quad and I can actually see myself finishing it. ( which is rare with shadows )

Here is how it looks WITHOUT FLASH :

Maybelline Diamond Glow Eye Shadow “Copper Brown”

Here is how it looks with FLASH :

Maybelline Diamond Glow Eye Shadow “Copper Brown”

The GOOD :

1. Great neutral palette.

2. Easy to wear to college/work.

3. Travel friendly.

4. Soft and easy to blend.

5. Decently Pigmented.

1. A tad too expensive.

2. Dark brown shade is not as pigmented as the others. ( I like that but not everyone may like it )

Will I recommend and repurchase?

I don’t think I will have to repurchase this too soon but if I finish this up then I will. I recommend this to anyone who wants a quick look with shiny neutrals and easy touch ups throughout the day! I absolutely LOVE the shade ( A ) for highlighting! ❤

Price – Rs. 450/-

POND’S Oil Control Skin Mattifying Facial Foam and POND’S Pure White Deep Cleansing Facial Foam Review!

By Aishwarya Kaushal, Saturday, 10th August 2013

POND’S Oil Control Skin Mattifying Facial Foam

What POND’S claims :

Don’t let oily-skin bring you down! This highly-absorbent Mineral Clay cleanser effectively sponges up dirt and makeup from your skin without over-drying it, keeping it ‘matte’ for up to 12 hours.

Special Ingredient

Mineral Clay

Nature’s most effective mineral for absorbing excess oil without drying your skin.

Ingredients :

Myristic Acid, glycerin, water, propylene glycol, potassium hydroxide, palmitic acid & stearic acid, decyl glucoside, lauric acid, glycol distearete, glyceryl stearate, polyethylene, polyquatemium-7, DMDM hydantoin & lodopropynyl butylcarbamate, silica and Cl 74160, glycerin and water and thermos thermophillius ferment, glycerin and water and kaolin, perfume, disodium EDTA, Cl 17200, Cl 42090.

My Thoughts :

The packaging of the product is easy and convenient to use. It comes with a lid that pops open and makes a very satisfying click when closing.

This is my Holy Grail face wash. I use it every morning to wash my face clean.

It is very effective in removing makeup and my clean feels absolutely squeaky clean after using this.

I would like to add that this is a face wash strictly for oily skinned beauties because it will be very drying for all other skin types. Even if you have combination skin it will make dry areas even drier. But that is a given since it clearly states “Oil Control” face wash.

It keeps me matte for 1-2 hours, which according to the grease-ball I am, is pretty good for a face wash. I do love how clean my skin feels after using this.

Whenever using a face wash, we should remember to rub it into our skin for at least 20-30 seconds to achieve its full benefits.

The consistency is thick and creamy. White base with tiny blue beads of “Mineral Clay” that help control the shine.

The GOOD :

1. It will leave you squeaky clean.

2. Good for oily people.

3. A tiny pea sized amount is enough for your whole face.

4. Travel friendly packaging ( smaller size available )

5. Affordable

6. Easily available

7. Great quantity for the price.

8. Since it helps in controlling oil, it also helps prevent acne.

1. It is NOT meant for any other skin type other than oily.

Will I recommend and repurchase?

Yes absolutely! This is my 4-5 tube and I recommend it to everyone with severely oily skin.

Price – Rs. 119 for 100gm

POND’S Pure White Deep Cleansing Facial Foam

What POND’S claims :

Formulated with Activated Carbon and Vitamin B3, Pond’s Pure White is a deep cleanser that exfoliates dead skin cells, and draws out impurities and dirt from the skin’s surface, as well as deep within pores to reveal your natural, pure-white looking skin.

Special Ingredient

Activated Carbon

An extremely porous mineral that absorbs impurities without over-drying your skin.

Ingredients :

Myristic Acid, glycerin, water, propylene glycol, potassium hydroxide, palmitic acid & stearic acid, decyl glucoside, lauric acid, glycol distearete, glyceryl stearate, polyquatemium-7, DMDM hydantoin & lodopropynyl butylcarbamate, niacinamide, charcoal Powder, carbon, perfume, disodium EDTA

The packaging of the product is easy and convenient to use. I really like the all black packaging. It comes with a lid that pops open and makes a very satisfying click when closing.

This is one my favorite face washes. I use it every night before sleeping.

After using this face wash, my skin feels refreshed.

It has a very strong fragrance that smells just like expensive perfume. I personally love it. It makes me feel like a spa massage on my face every night because of its wonderful scent. In fact, I love it so much that I wish their was an actual perfume the same scent as this! In the ingredients it does say it has perfume. So the strong scent might be too much for sensitive people.

It doesn’t help with oil control since it is not meant to do so. Also, I do not really care about the whitening aspect of this wash face. However, with continued usage it will contribute a little to evening out the skin tone. This is not a moisturizing face wash so it might be drying for dry skinned beauties.

It is good for clearing make-up too.

In my opinion, this is best suited for normal – combination skin.

The consistency is thick and creamy and it lathers up well. It looks charcoal grey.

The GOOD :

1. It will leave you feeling refreshed and clean.

2. Good for normal-combination skin types,

3. A tiny pea sized amount is enough for your whole face.

4. Travel friendly packaging ( smaller size available )

5. Affordable

6. Easily available

7. Great quantity for the price.

8. Removes make-up

1. It is slightly drying.

2. Claims of whitening are high.

Will I recommend and repurchase?

Yes! This is my 3-4 tube and I use it every night, I love the scent and it makes me feel really clean.

Price – Rs. 150 for 100gm.

I use these two face washes everyday, They are a part of my daily skin care regimen. I like to use the oil controlling face wash in the morning to help with shine during the day and pure white at night to feel refreshed and ready for bed! 🙂

They are easily available at any general store that sells toiletries, pharmacies and New-U stores across the country.
